InnoTrans 2026: Moxa Showcases AI-enabled, Secure, and Sustainable Solutions for Modern Rail Networks

Moxa is presenting its solutions for AI-powered onboard applications along with train-to-ground (T2G) and trackside communication at InnoTrans 2026. These solutions enable rail operators and train manufacturers to modernize their communication infrastructure and strengthen cybersecurity for building sustainable and secure data-driven operations. In line with the motto “Forging Mobility Ahead—Enroute to smarter, safer transportation”, Moxa will showcase its latest edge computers for condition-based monitoring (CBM) and CCTV surveillance, its sustainable Ethernet switches, and demos of onboard AI applications in Hall 4.1, Booth 550.

Edge AI for Onboard Intelligence

The analysis of real-time data is becoming increasingly important for safer and more efficient rail operations. With a live demo of a driver’s cab, Moxa will demonstrate how AI-accelerated industrial PCs and AI-enabled cameras empower real-time applications, such as passenger counting and obstacle detection for safer and more efficient rail.

For condition-based monitoring, video surveillance analytics, and data-driven rail applications, Moxa is introducing the new V2000D Series. These high-performance edge computers were specifically developed to help rail operators analyze operational data in real time and streamline maintenance processes. The compact V2202D with Intel Atom® Amston Lake processor accommodates up to eight cameras and features two externally accessible, lockable M.2 slots. The Intel® Core™ 3 or Core™ 7 powered V2406D supports up to 16 cameras, offers four LAN ports, and is available with optional Power Loss Protection. The advanced V2426D (expected in Q2, 2027), also powered by Intel® Core™ 3 or Core™ 7, features a modular design for multi-application flexibility, support for AI accelerator cards, up to three M.2 slots for RAID 0/1/5, and four PoE ports.

Cybersecurity and Network Resilience

In light of increasing cybersecurity requirements and stricter regulations such as NIS2 and the CRA (Cyber Resilience Act), rail companies must provide secure and cyber-resilient onboard, T2G, and trackside networks. Moxa supports these needs with a portfolio specifically tailored to meet these cybersecurity regulations. A lineup of IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 certified devices demonstrates Moxa’s secure-by-design approach to help operators address security requirements at the infrastructure level. Moxa is also co-developing products with customers to meet stringent IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 3 system-wide requirements.

At InnoTrans, Moxa will use various scenarios to demonstrate how connected rail infrastructure can be better protected against cyberattacks in applications such as T2G communication, passenger information systems (PIS), and CCTV.

Reliable T2G and Trackside Communication

A comprehensive portfolio of integrated wired and wireless communication solutions for T2G and trackside infrastructure enables reliable data communication between vehicles, control centers, and trackside systems, facilitating the development of secure, scalable, and resilient rail networks.

At InnoTrans, Moxa will show how the band-pass filter (BPF) function enhances T2G communication by filtering out interfering radio signals outside a defined range to ensure stable connectivity in demanding railway environments.

Sustainability Without Compromising Reliability

Sustainability is becoming a key focus for rail operators and train manufacturers. They need durable and energy-efficient hardware that helps them achieve their climate protection goals without compromising on reliability and safety. To this end, Moxa is introducing the latest generation of its TN-4500B Series Ethernet switches (expected in Q2, 2027) at InnoTrans. These devices facilitate modern high-speed networks in rail vehicles and data-intensive applications such as onboard Wi-Fi, video surveillance, passenger information systems, and edge computing. They are up to 26% smaller, 30% lighter, and require 35% less power than previous generations, reducing their environmental footprint throughout the entire network life cycle. Their compact design also makes them suitable for installation in confined spaces. With robust cybersecurity features compliant with industrial standards, the TN-4500B Series also helps protect train networks against modern cyberthreats.

Long-term Availability and the Highest Standards for Rail Applications

All Moxa devices for railway applications are built for long-term availability and meet the highest standards regarding safety, availability, and reliability in accordance with IEC 61375, IEC 62443, EN 50155, and EN 50121-4.

Visitors can experience Moxa’s latest rail networking and computing solutions at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin from September 22 to 25 in Hall 4.1, Booth 550.
